dc.description.abstractnewline Abstract newlineThrombosis is a possible outcome of excessive coagulation or inhibition of anticoagulant processes. The pathophysiology of thrombosis is primarily caused by irregularities of the vascular wall, changes in blood flow, and changes in blood composition. Nowadays, various natural anti-thrombotic or thrombolytic medications are used for the prevention and treatment of thrombotic diseases. In this study, we have evaluated the pharmacognostic, antithrombin, and thrombolytic activities of leaves extract of the plant Lantana camara. The extractive value of leaves extract of the plant Lantana camera was higher (20.58%) in methylene chloride as solvent. In comparison with heparin, Lantana camara extract showed about equal antithrombin activity. Lantana camara also showed good thrombolytic activity, which was compared with streptokinase. From the study, we conclude that the leaves extract of the plant Latana camera shows significant antithrombin and thrombolytic activity. A modified release form of extract has show better therapeutic efficiency. In this work, the extracts of camara lantana loaded polycaprolactone microparticles were prepared using the solvent evaporation method. 32 design approaches were used for optimization of polycaprolactone and PVP concentrations for response entrapment efficiency (Y1) and drug release (Y2). The microparticles of camara lantana were analyzed for EE, FTIR, DSC, SEM, and LM. The entrapment efficiency of camara lantana microparticles was in the range of 62.25-92.04 %.The particle size of the optimized batch of microparticles was 789.6 (d. nm) with a PDI of 0.838. It shows pH-dependent swelling with no interaction between drug and polymer observed in DSC studies. The methylene chloride extract of Lantana camara leaves demonstrated thrombolytic activity in addition to antithrombin activity, which is comparable to that of streptokinase and heparin. In a toxicity study of the Lantana camara leaves extract preparation, it was found to be quite safe (LD50 gt 2000 mg/kg). A
