Abstract: In ancient days, our forefathers relied upon each other for their day-to-day needs newlineand requirements. But the reliability among themselves went on decreasing with the newlineincrease in population and selfishness of the mankind. The early people used hand driven newlineprocesses for making clothes, utensils and food materials, etc. As the time changed, newlinedemand and need of the people went on changing continuously with respect to time. As such many social and technological improvements were needed. In general these newlinetechnological improvements and life standards caused newer and more complex systems newlineto be evolved day-by-day. However, one of the most important features of a product is its newlineperformance with respect to time. To study and analyse this performance, a time based newlinequality concept has been evolved which is called as reliability. We generally use the word reliable in our daily life. Every one thinks of reliability of any product before purchasing that product. Today, reliability is one of the most important quality characteristics for customers and is used for products, systems, processes and components of system in a wide spread area that extends from electronics to software as an interdisciplinary concept. newlineIn the beginning, the idea of reliability of a system or a machine or a person was newlinebased on theoretical discussions. Later on, a mathematical shape was given to the concept newlineof reliability of a system. The mathematical development of reliability gave thrust to newlinemany ideas in the field of electrical, mechanical and electronics engineering and allied industries. Due to the increasing complexity of the modern engineering systems which involve high risk, the concept of reliability has become a very important factor in the over all designing of a system. Reliability analysis is an analytical problem that deals with statistical and engineering aspects of the problem. In order to find the reliability of a system, one has to construct a system of linear differential equations, using the mnemonic rule.
