Abstract: Most of the western economists tend to identify agriculture with newlineunderdevelopment and industry with development. This is one account of the fact newlinethat most of the underdeveloped (or developing) countries are heavily dependent newlineon agriculture while most of the developed countries are highly industrialised. The newlineeconomic history of most of the nations also shows that with the economic newlinedevelopment of a country, the share of the agricultural sector in the national newlineincome declines while the share of the industrial sector increases. Therefore, newlineindustrialisation is taken as a concomitant of development and many economists newlineargue that if an underdeveloped country is serious about its economic newlinedevelopment, it must initiate programmes of industrialisation. newlineYavatmal District is one of the backward district in the Vidharbha Region of newlineMaharashtra. There is great lack of industrialization growth and development. It newlinehas been rightly said that industrialization and urbanization of the region result into newlinedevelopment, which absolutely suit to this study. Yavatmal District faces problem newlineof development and growth, therefore, there is a need to have a study in hand on newlinethe issue. newlineIndustrialization growth and development play crucial role in the newlinedevelopment of the country, which is directly applicable to entire part of the newlinecountry including states, regions and districts. In Maharashtra Vidharbha and newlineMarathwada are two under developed regions, of which many districts, from these newlineregions are not developed in a right way yet. As the study concerned with newlineYavatmal District of Vidharbha region, the accurate status of the district will be newlinecovered and known to all. newlineThe collection of data has gone through dividing into two parts, i.e. Primary newlineData and Secondary Data. This study is mainly based on secondary data only. The newlineSecondary Data and required information for the study are collected from the newlinevarious sources like the publications of Economic survey of Maharashtra, newlineVidharbha Region as well as Yavatmal District.
