Abstract: | The aim was to characterize the genome mined putative epoxide hydrolase gene (sgeh) from Streprtomyces griseus. The purified overexpressed recombinant SGEH enzyme was enantioselective and had broad substrate spectrum. The reaction parameters of the recombinant culture were optimized to kinetically resolve phenyl glycidyl ether into its R-enantiomer with the E-value of 20. The study led to an eco-friendly process to produce 98% enatiopure (R)-PGE for the production of chiral amino alcohols and Beta- blockers. newline |
