dc.description.abstract | The present thesis consolidates the synthesis of multifunctional aminic organoselenium antioxidants containing Seand#9472;N bond and related products. The corresponding diselenides and azo-bis-ebselenamines have been used as precursors for the development of ebselen derivatives. Control experiments and redox process using thiol (PhSH) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) are used for isolation of Seand#9472;N heterocyclic compounds. All compounds have been evaluated for the glutathione peroxidase (GPx) like and free lipid peroxyl radical-trapping antioxidant activities. The regeneration and recycling of synthesized organoselenium antioxidants carried out at the expense of easily available ascorbic acid as co-antioxidants with an unconventional mechanism. Here, we successfully utilized the concept of electron donating group substitutions and weak Nand#9472;H bond enthalpy for hydrogen atom transfer to inhibit the lipid peroxyl radicals in the two-phase lipid peroxidation model system. newline | |
