Abstract: | Mrinal is the one of India s respectable television personality, journalist and Indian modern writer of contemporary era. Mrinal has chosen the field of journalism which was untouched by women before her. She has been credited of being the first Indian women editor of Indian. Being a successful journalist most of her works are based on facts and figures with mentioned dates. Nobody can surpass her in the field of journalism and authorship. Mrinal is a bilingual writer and has written and published number of works which covers all genres as poems, memoirs, short stories, novels, articles, dramas, and translation works. newline newlineMrinal is a woman reformist in the sense, she worked with many NGOs as CINI, MASUM, RUWSEC, ARTH, CEHAT which were running for the welfare of children and women for the same. She has travelled in the interior parts of rural India and collected statistic data on Indian women s health in her non-fictional work Stepping Out which is full of ground really and is the result of her painstaking search. She spent several years on the National Commission for Self-Employed Women founded Ela Bhatt, since 1980. newline newlineThe topic of the Thesis is Mrinal Pande s Quest for Women Empowerment . Mrinal Pande s works deal with child narrative, women s healthcare status in rural India, religious belief, Patriarchal society, treatment of girl child in India, Indian myths and superstition, old convention, Hindu elite society, laws meant for women; crime against women, financial status, personal and public life of women, status of working women; social and political status of rural and urban women etc. Mrinal has tried to disclose the ground reality by comparing Indian women s status with global indicators. Mrinal has given suggestions also to solve women issues accordingly in her works. Mrinal has illustrated the life of strong-willed women to justify her talk.
