dc.description.abstract | Present study endeavours to examine various statutory, non statutory and social security labour welfare measures in textile industry of Punjab, along with the evaluation of satisfaction level of workers and identification of problems being faced by the entrepreneurs in the implementation of labour welfare measures. Non statutory and social security measures are being provided by the employers to workers in the textile industry of Punjab but still fall short of expectation. Proper remuneration and workplace environment, safety, basic welfare facilities and other monetary benefits were detected as important factors to enhance the satisfaction level of workers. Entrepreneurs are confronting the problems of complicated procedures and inadequate government provisions and knowledge and resource bottlenecks. The study also indentified the existence of a positive relationship between labour welfare expenditure and labour productivity. newline | |
