Machine Learning Models to Predict the Adoption Intent of Virtual Teaching in Higher Education Institutions with Reference to Business Schools in Tamilnadu

Abstract

Higher Education in India confronted a terrible crisis, owing to the unexpected covid-19 pandemic that almost brought the educational system in the country to halt. The Primary activities of the educational system including face to face teaching, examinations, projects, laboratories, field visits, industry visits were forced to shut down. After the Physical resumption of classes many faculty members continued usage of virtual teaching platforms paved way for exploring innovative teaching pedagogies for delivering effective course content using simulation exercises, break out rooms, game-based learning and blended learning pedagogies. This study has been conducted in this above scenario with an objective to study the adoption intent of virtual teaching, among the faculty members working in business schools in Tamil Nadu, India by validating the integrated the Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology and Task Technology fit models and extending the same by including personal innovativeness as a regressor newline
