This thesis deals with the problem of congestion in networks due to undelivered newlinepackets, its avoidance and control. Primarily, the nature of traffic in the network determines newlinethe method of controlling. Different techniques are available in the literature for managing newlinetraffic in networks, aiming to achieve Quality of Service. This study aims to develop new newlineprotocols for control of UDP data caused congestion in dynamic IP networks. newlinequotThe Improved Congestion Control and Resource Allocation Algorithmquot indicates that newlinethe sources adapt their sending rates as per the proposed algorithm and allocate the resource in newlinethe desired manner to prevent congestion in the network. Also, improved congestion control newlineis achieved with minimal feedback at a faster convergence rate. The decentralised operation is newlinea characteristic feature of the new algorithm. Two case studies are performed to analyse the newlineperformance of proposed algorithm. newlinequotThe Proactive and Adaptive Resource Allocation Algorithm for Congestion Control newlinein Multi-users Shared Linkquot distribute available bandwidth of link capacity among the sources newlinein desired manner. The proposed algorithm is proactive in nature that means it act before newlineoccurrence of any congestion in the link and adaptive in the sense that it adjusts the additive newlineincrease and multiplicative decrease parameters by itself. The proposed algorithm is tested for newlinedifferent values of sending rates of multiple users. newline
