Abstract: India s engagement with the Arctic is a tale of paradoxes yet holds immense promise towards fulfilling is strategic, geopolitical, economic and environmental goals. As a geographically distant observer with every limited rights exacerbated with ascension criteria, the path for the productive and valuable involvement has to be treaded meticulously. Herein lies the art to forge bilateral partnerships with Arctic nationa and productive participation in the Working groups and alliance with permanent participants. The role of scientific research, investments in Arctic Council projects and shrewd diplomacy is immense to rely India s aspirations. With the release of a daft Arctic policy in jan 2021, diversification and sourcing of ienergy imports, and alignment with Arctic countries on economic and political dimensions, and focus on ecological primacy and cooperation will pave the way for a robust and far sighted mutually beneficial partnerships. newline
