Abstract: | Superoxide dismutase is an important enzyme of the antioxidative defense system It forms the first line of defense against reactive oxygen species and environment induced oxidative stress Superoxide dismutase works in coordination with other antioxidative enzymes such as catalase ascorbate peroxidase and glutathione peroxidase These enzymes help in maintaining the ionic homeostasis deplete the level of reactive oxygen species and subsequently limit the oxidative stress condition Superoxide |
