Abstract: Solar energy is one of the promising candidates to solve many problems associated newlinewith both energy and environment but the main challenge is to develop low-cost and newlineefficient techniques for harvesting solar energy. The solar photovoltaic cells are newlineclassified into three generations. Most of the third generation solar cells include dye newlinesensitised solar cells (DSSCs), organic (excitonic) cells, polymer cells, quantum dot newlinecells, multi-carrier per photon cells. newline
