dc.description.abstract | Ferroelectric materials belong to an important class of dielectric materials from the point of view of their practical application in memory storage devices as ferroelectric memories, non volatile random access memories, ferroelectric random access memories, dynamic random access memories. Their utility to act as a potential source of memory devices is attributed to their peculiar nature by which their electric polarization state can be switched between their two characteristic states under the applied alternating field. These two polarization states act as signature of the ferroelectric system and can be exploited to get technological advantage for memory storage purposes. The other applications of these materials are found in ferroelectric capacitors, metal ferroelectric semiconductor field effect transistors, variable phase shifters, tunable resonators, variable frequency oscillators, microelectronic mechanical systems, infrared sensors, actuators and transducers etc. newline | |
