Development of a Novel Technique for Intrusion Detection in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract

Security and privacy are speedily replacing performance as the primary concern in many newlinescenarios of sensor networking. The research work embrace with the comprehensive newlinereview of: (i) the outstanding vulnerabilities and attacks in Wireless Sensor Networks newline(WSNs), (ii) the intrusion detection techniques for Hello flood, Wormhole, and Sybil newlineattacks, (iii) the design of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) for WSNs, (iv) metrics newlineconcern with IDS in WSNs. In the research work, five new robust, efficient intrusion newlinedetection techniques for the attacks of Hello flood, Wormhole, and Sybil attacks in newlineWSNs have been proposed. The work provides two efficient IDSs for these attacks. The newlineresearch work also provides two approaches for the selection and evaluation of IDSs for newlineWSNs. The performance of techniques and IDSs has been evaluated in NS2 tool. newline
