Enhancing Human Capital through Competency Based Tools A case study of Power grid

Abstract

In the present scenario, organizations are using various competency-based tools for newlineenhancing the Human Capital of the organization. Using various employee survey newlinetools thisstudy hasbeencarriedout to test the effectiveness the competencybased frameworks and tools used inPOWERGRID.Theresponses received from newlineemployees throughquestionnaire followed by focused group discussions were newlineanalyzed to test the hypothesis. The impact of competency-based practices has newlinebeen analyzed w.r.t various parameters of employee satisfactions, employee newlineengagement, service quality and also external customer satisfaction. This has also newlinethrown light on the impact of competency enhancement on increasing newlineeffectiveness of employees, increasing efficiency and effectiveness of departments newlineand also their impact in achieving strategic business goals of the company. This has newlinealso uncovered the areas of overall skill gap and competency gaps in the company newlinewhich needs disproportionate attention by the management. newline
