Abstract: | The present investigation was carried out at Vegetable Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, newlineSHUATS, Prayagraj during 2020-2021. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design newlinewith three replications having twenty-five genotypes. The results from the present investigation newlinerevealed that genotypes ABSPS-1-2, ABSPS-1-2. Identified as desirable with seed yield per plant. newlineThe analysis of variance indicated highly significant differences among genotypes for almost all newlinecharacters. Heritability was recorded for all characters which were highly heritable. The High newlinegenetic advance (as per cent per mean) was recorded for No. of Secondary Branches followed by newlineSeed yield per Plant , Harvest index , Leaf area , No. of pods per Plant , Plant height , Days to first newlineFlowering , Fruit width , No. of primary Branches. Suggesting there by that these traits could be newlineconsidered as reliable indices for selection and higher responses of this trait could be expected newlinefrom selection. Genotypic and phenotypic correlation studies reveal that seed index, biological newlineyield, and harvest index shows positive correlation with seed yield per plant. A perusal of newlinephenotypic path coefficient analysis showed that seed yield had positive direct effect on Harvest newlineindex, followed by plant height , Seed Index (100gm of Seed weight). A perusal of genotypic path newlinecoefficient analysis showed that seed yield had positive direct effect on Harvest index, followed newlineby Seed Index (100gm of Seed weight), plant height. newlineKey words: ABSPS-1-2, ABSPS-1-2, Randomized Block Design newline |
