In recent days, high system capacity with high quality of service is newlinerequired in wireless communication applications. Since the bandwidth in newlinecommunication is a limited resource, there is a demand for technologies with newlinehigh throughput without changing the bandwidth. This requirement can be newlineachieved by Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) systems using multiple newlineantennas in both ends of the network. But it generates computational newlinecomplexity in the receiver side due to its high data rate. So, there is a need of newlinelow complexity algorithms in MIMO systems. newlineMIMO system is used in wireless communication standards for newlineexample, WiFi (802.11n), Wi-MAX (802.16d/e), WLAN (802.11ac), etc. It newlineuses many number of antennas in both transmitting and receiving ends so that newlinehigh reliability and diversity can be attained while transmitting various data newlinethrough multiple antennas. It plays a vital role in 5th generation standards newlinepreferable in cellular communications and it requires high bandwidth newlineconsuming low energy. The detection of signal in the receiver side is a major newlinechallenge in MIMO communication system. For best signal detection with newlinelow complexity, various signal detection algorithms are presented. newlineIn this research, K best signal detection is proposed using carry newlineselect adder which is based on modified final selector. In addition, its newlineperformance is evaluated in terms of area, power consumption, energy newlineconsumption, throughput etc newline
