Abstract: Todayand#8223;s technology is focusing on the use of lightweight and size range newlinematerials in conventional equipments which has dramatically, improved the quality of newlineour lives. On the basis of these aspects, nanoporous anodized aluminium oxide newlinebecomes cynosure of all eyes. Aluminium and its alloys have diverse applications in newlinethe domain of aerospace, space, automotives, marine, electronics, optoelectronics, newlinepackaging, architectural purposes, energy storage devices, biosensors and decorative newlinepurposes etc. The versatile nature of aluminium due to its unique properties like good newlinecorrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity, non-toxicity, unbeatable strength to newlineweight ratio, low density, malleability and ductility. However, these materials have newlinesome drawbacks such as low hardness, high friction coefficient, difficulty in newlinelubrication which restricts their extensive applications. These shortcomings are newlinesupposed to be overcome by anodization process. newline
