Abstract: Shell and tube heat exchanger is one type of heat exchanger used in newlinemany industrial applications for process heating or cooling, power generation, newlinerefrigeration etc. It is composed with one shell and tube bundles. Water is used newlineas the working fluid in the shell and tube heat exchanger. The performance of newlinethe heat exchanger depends on the type of working fluid and design of heat newlineexchanger. Conventional shell and tube heat exchanger is less effective due to its newlinelow heat transfer rate and low convective heat transfer coefficient. newlineHeat exchanger performance could be improved by modifying the newlinedesign of heat exchanger or improving the properties of working fluid. newlineModification of heat exchanger design is a time consuming process; further, it newlinewould increase the initial cost of the heat exchanger. Hence, the alternate way is newlineto improve the properties of working fluid. Generally, water is used as working newlinefluid in shell and tube heat exchanger. Recently, few investigators have tried newlinenanofluids in the heat transfer applications instead of water. Nanofluid showed newlinebetter thermal properties than water. newlineNanofluid is prepared by dispersing the nanoparticles in water. The newlineproperties of nanofluids could be changed by dis newline
