Abstract: | New media relates to such Internet computer technologies and networking connections that involve some form of computation. New Media adopts modern computing technologies for distribution and dissemination of any type of communication. Digital media is indispensable in today s life as people inescapably rely on this to connect with people and participate in social discourse and official interaction locally and globally. Most of the effects of digital media are beneficial to people and society alike. A recent report published by Google states that with the provision of easy access to knowledge, the Internet is empowering Indian women and assisting them in making better considered opinions and decisions in their daily lives. In this context, the present study seeks to examine the factors influencing the effect of New Media on Female Empowerment in Tamil Nadu. The drive of this study is to determine how New Media has impacted women in many ways, ultimately contributing to their empowerment. Women access all sorts of information from digital technologies. The present study is empirically done to evaluate the extent of women s awareness of New Media and survey the ways in which they apply the latest technological know-how for their empowerment. The methodology of the study adopts both qualitative and quantitative research tools using an online questionnaire and a case study in the analytical portion of this study. The survey was generated and circulated to women in Tamil Nadu through the process of Purposive. Purposive sampling is used to study the use of New Media by women in Tamil Nadu. The size of the sample is resolute as 525, IBM ® SPSS ® Version 21.0 was used to analyze the quantitative survey and a coding process was implemented for the qualitative analysis. AMOS ® version 21.0 was used for SEM Analysis. The results revealed that the resources obtained from New Media correlated positively and significantly with women entrepreneurs performance.
