Abstract: Day by day, extreme environments are being recognized as sources of secondary newlinemetabolites that provide an emboldened source for the development of novel natural newlinepharmaceuticals. Extremophile microorganisms from abundant and untapped reservoirs of newlinesaline and hot water lakes with previously uncharacterized roles are now known serving as newlinethe source of extraordinary tools to fight new challenges in human health. One such newlinemicroorganism was bacilli, a broad homogeneous group of bacteria that live in a wide newlinevariety of environmental conditions. It enables the development of resistant spores to live newlinein high-temperature zones where other species are unable to survive. More importantly, newlinethese extremophiles are known to produce extreme antimicrobials. The goal of this newlineresearch was to isolate, recognize and characterize such Bacillus species from hot springs newlinewith the potential to produce secondary metabolites with antimicrobial properties. newline
