Abstract: Decision are taken by human being across the globe to find solution for real world problems via human cognitive with assistance from prevailing technology. A Spatial Decision Support System (SDSS) makes use of Geographical Information System and related technologies to derive solution fora spatially semi-structured problems. A novel architecture has been proposed and demonstrated in the present study for the development of a SDSS while addressing the prevailing issue of interoperability, performance and security. A four-tier architecture has been demonstrated in the present study wherein the fourth tier takes care of performance and security related issues while the interoperability is addressed using the service oriented architecture (SOA). The complete architecture consist of three module encompassing the four-tiers of the system. Module-1 consist of the spatial data and spatial models in the form of OGC web services and is referred as data and services module. Module-2 comprises of the orchestration and automation process, it is implemented via python scripts. The third module consist of the user dialog management and loading sharing at the users end. The architecture is capable of fulfilling the requirement of robust, flexible and secure modern online Spatial Decision Support System and is referred as Web Service Orchestration (WSO) based architecture for Online SDSS. newlineThe proposed architecture is demonstrated in this study by implementing it for the development of a SDSS viz. Forest Fire Risk Advisory and Monitoring System (FRAMS). The system was demonstrated to the forest officials of Uttarakhand State during a training session and currently they are using it for the management of forest fire in the state. During the discussion with the forest official, it was observed that the technological approach used in FRAMS i.e. WSO based architecture has improved the overall decision-making process while addressing the performance and interoperability challenges faced earlier by the Forest Agencies of Uttarakhand. newline
