Abstract: EVALUATION OF SECONDARY LEVEL PRE-SERVICE TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME IN ODISHA: PERCEPTION OF STAKEHOLDERS newlineObjectives newline To assess the 2-Year B.Ed. Programme in the perspective of NCFTE- 2009 and NCTE Regulations 2014. newline To ascertain the perception of Student Teachers about the on-going 2-Year B.Ed. Programme in relation to gender and subject of study. newline To determine the perception of Teacher Educators with regard to 2-Year B.Ed. Programme in relation to subject background and level of educational qualification. newline To determine the views of Experts in Teacher Education on 2-Year B.Ed. Programme. newline To examine the Problems and Issues faced by the Principals with regard to the implementation of 2-Year B.Ed. Programme in the State of Odisha. newlineThe findings of the study are as follows: newlineIt is observed by the researcher that in Odisha all the Teacher Training Institutions are following the Norms and Standards of NCFTE-2009 and NCTE Regulations-2014 regarding its duration. newlineThe perception of Student Teachers on the 2-Year B.Ed. Programme with reference to its flexibility, balance between Theory and Practice, sufficient scope for Co-curricular activities and development of language proficiency, development of pedagogical knowledge in the specific subject areas are properly accepted. newlineThe perception of Teacher Educators with reference to many aspects, it has been observed that the teacher educators agreed properly for implementation of the 2-Year B.Ed. programme. There lies no significant difference in the perception of Science and Art Stream Teacher Educator on 2-Year B.Ed. Programme and the null hypothesis is rejected. newlineThe Experts of Teacher Education highly accepted the 2-Year B.Ed. programme from the standpoint of its different aspects as per the instruction given by NCTE regulations. newlineWith reference to the views of the Principals of the Teacher Training Institutions it has been observed that, although this 2-Year B.Ed. Programme has some positive aspects in different aspects. newline newline newline
