Abstract: Cost Estimation is the most important requirement these days in the development of software. An accurate calculation of software development cost is required to measure the client investment, risk analysis and it also plays an important role making a plan and taking decisions for the software development. newlineAlso, it does not only need cost for software development but also the software maintenance which is ignored but in reality, it s really hard to evaluate the cost of software development. newlineFor the Cost Estimation in organizations, COCOMO (Constructive Cost Model) is considered as the most used model for cost estimation. It is a regression based model that works on Number of lines of code (LOC) . COCOMO is the most reliable when it comes to calculating the various parameters involved in software development, which are size, cost, effort, time and quality. newline
