Abstract: | Purpose: newlineThe purpose of the study was to investigate the sports related psychological newlineabilities of young tribal athletes of Jharkhand with reference to non-tribal young newlineathletes. newlineSubjects: newlineA total of 200 participants were selected from Jharkhand State Sports newlinePromotion Society, Ranchi. The samples were categorised according to their newlinebelongingness to age groups (11 to 12 and 13 to 14), community (non-tribal and tribal), newlineand gender (female and male). Samples were selected on the basis of three criteria; 1) a newlineminimum of two years of living and training in the same academy, and 2) having good newlineperformance in last three conducted quarterly motor ability test, and 3) no injury newlinehistory. Multistage random sampling were used to draw 25 sample in each eight newlinegroups namely (NTF 11-12), (TF 11-12), (NTF 13-14) and (TF 13-14) in female newlinegroup, whereas in male groups were (NTM 11-12), (TM 11-12), (NTM 13-14) and newline(TM 13-14). newlineFactors: newlineTo assess the necessary sports related psychological ability factors like general newlineintelligence, reactive stress tolerance, visual perception, reaction ability and sustained newlineattention were selected for the study. newlineSub-factors: newlineIn order to appropriately understand the factors, the associated sub-factors like newlinecorrect and incorrect response in reactive stress tolerance, scores and median time for newlinecorrect response under visual perception, reaction and motor time under reaction newlineability, and ability of visual attention and ability to quickly recognise the visual newlinepatterns under sustained attention were selected. |
