Abstract: Future wireless communications services will require higher data rates as technology advances. The MIMO (multiple-input, multiple-output) technology is being touted as a must-have emerging and future wireless communication systems. The MIMO technique improves the data rate, transmission speed, channel capacity, and throughput of wireless communication systems by a significant amount. Multiple antennas are used on both the transmitter and receiver sides of MIMO antennas. Designing the effective MIMO antennas that provide higher data rates and capacity which has that number of issues. Designing a MIMO antenna with a low correlation coefficient or low mutual coupling between the antenna elements is one of the problems. Another problem is to construct a MIMO antenna that can provide all the various wireless communication frequencies while remaining compact. The objective of this is to design a compact MIMO patch antenna for Lower sub-6 GHz for 5G applications with good return loss. For MIMO patch antenna Mutual coupling is the biggest challenge to reduce the mutual coupling by using different techniques like Defected Ground structure, orthogonal diversity technique. Calculating the diversity parameters like Envelop correlation coefficient, Diversity Gain, TARC, Mean effective Gain, Channel Capacity loss. newlineThe thesis starts with basic design of rectangular microstrip patch antenna for lower sub-6Ghz for 5G application over the resonate frequency 3.5 GHz. The size of the antenna was designed by using rectangular microstrip equations. But the single antenna is having lower data rates, so to improve the data rates and quality of the system is done by MIMO antenna system. That single antenna system is transformed into MIMO antenna system to enhance the data rates by using different techniques performed to reduce the mutual coupling between the antenna elements and rectangular microstrip patch antenna designed for lower sub-6 GHz application. newline newline
