Abstract: Stress and anxiety are common threats to human health. Along with depression, they affect almost one in thirteen globally and are considered to be commonly seen mental disorders. While most of the affected people continue living without getting themselves treated, several people tend to lose their mind and even commit suicide in gravely stressful situations. Stress and anxiety seem to have taken people of all ages and profession in their hold. Stress and anxiety arise due to several reasons like work pressure, growing competition, financial instabilities, illness, mishap in family, increasing responsibilities, deteriorating relationships and many more. Human life is full of complexities, which keep affecting human health as well. Stress and anxiety arising due to such complexities often result in poor health conditions and mental disturbance. People who go through stress and anxiety over long periods of time are most likely to experience poor health outcomes, like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, depression and panic disorder. newlineConsidering MBBS study course a challenge to overcome along with the selection procedure, syllabus, personal issues, transition phase from school life to college life, and various other factors, medical students undergo a lot of pressure and stress. Throughout the world, medical students face one or the other challenges in their student and professional life. When the doctors will feel better and enthusiastic themselves, they will be able to think better and perform their best in the welfare of their patients. newlineIn India, a number of studies have been performed to detect stress and anxiety using various instruments which show different results. In 2017, a study was conducted in a medical college of New Delhi in which it was observed that 40.1%, 43.8% and 32.0% students showed symptoms of anxiety, stress, and depression respectively.
