dc.description.abstract | The demand of cement is everlasting in construction industry and India newlineis the second largest user of cement after China. The global demand of newlinecement will also increase from 3.27Billion MT to 4.83Billion MT in 2030. newlineConsidering these facts one can understand the impact of cement industry in newlinethe economic growth, but the other side of this industry is the consumption of newlineenergy while manufacturing cement through blending process. The newlineproduction of cement emits larger quantity of carbon dioxide which creates newlineabundance of greenhouse gases and pollutes the environment. This becomes newlinethe huge concern to the cement manufacturers and environmentalist and newlinestarted exploring eco-friendly way to produce cement by using Industrial newlineby-products. newlineThe researchers were looking for contemporary alternative for cement newlineeither partial or complete replacement using industrial by-products, which newlineconsists of silica and alumina to reduce the quantity of usage of cement in newlineconcrete. To initiate adhesive properties, silica and alumina were kept under newlinealkaline environment (sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate) for rapid newlinechemical reaction and to form a ring structure comprising Si-O-Al-O bonds newlineclaimed as geopolymerization and emits carbon dioxide one-sixth time than newlinethe cement concrete. This creates much attention to explore more about newlinedifferent industrial by products like fly ash, Ground Granulated Blast furnace newlineSlag (GGBS), rice husk ash and silica fume as base material. Curing is the newlinekey process of geopolymer concrete which activates polymerization and heat newlinestimulates the polymerization process and forms reactive components of newlineSi-Al. The current study is one such initiative to analyze the effect of heat newlinecuring in geopolymer concrete by using GGBS as base material. | |
