Abstract: | Opportunistic routing (OR) is an emerging technology that takes newlineadvantage of the broadcast nature of wireless networks. In opportunistic newlinenetworks, mobile nodes communicate even if a connecting route doesn t exist. newlineIn Traditional routing protocols fixed routes are selected for transmission and newlinepackets are forwarded for each hop. In dynamic wireless environment, newlinetransmission failures occur frequently due to path breaks and demands newlineretransmissions. This unreliable transmission causes additional traffic in the newlinenetwork and waste of network resources and bandwidth. Opportunistic newlinerouting reduces the number of transmissions needed for reliable delivery of a newlinepacket, as it avoids retransmissions as long as the packet makes forward newlineprogress towards the destination. Opportunistic routing promises to be an newlineefficient routing protocol to improve the performance of wireless networks newlineproviding increased network throughput and transmission reliability. newlineHowever, it runs the risk of duplicate forwarding by multiple candidates newlineunaware of other nodes transmission resulting in potentially more overall newlinenumber of transmissions than even best-path routing. Therefore the utility of newlineopportunistic routing hinges on inter-candidate communication and in newlineensuring that only the highest priority candidate forwards it. newlineIn comparison with wired networks, dynamic and wireless nature newlinemakes them more liable to different types of security attacks. To provide newlinesecure network communication, certificate revocation is used as a newlinefundamental component. In order to prevent further damage, attackers are newlineisolated from network activities by revoking their certificates. newlineEfficient Opportunistic Routing and Certificate Revocation newlinetechniques in MANET is the key area of this research and the followings newlinecontributions are made via this research work. newline |
