dc.description.abstract | Diesel engine is used since generations because of its high fuel newlineefficiency and applications. Despite of these advantages, high environmental newlinepollution is noted from the diesel engine. The research centre for engine in newlineuniversity of Wisconsin developed the reactive controlled compression newlineignition engine (RCCI) engine in-order to control the combustion process newlineusing reactivity concept of fuel particles. Most of the issues arrived from newlinethese engines emission particles, engine loads and combustion process. Two newlinetypes of fuel called high reactive fuel (HRF) and low reactive fuel (LRF) are newlineinjected in to the engine cylinder thereby achieving an expected value of newlinecombustion progress. It observed a dissimilar reactivity of fuel in the incylinder newlineblending of these fuels. The control of combustion phase and newlineduration is done by the various injection patterns. A uniform mixture of air, newlinefuel is observed when injected low reactive fuel using PFI method. Before the newlinestarting of premixed charge combustion, the HRF is injected in to the engine newlinecylinder directly. The RCCI engine is focusing on reducing the fossil fuel newlineconsumption and pollutant emission. In that case the most of the research are newlinefound in gasoline and diesel or biodiesel. newlineFor achieving the optimal combustion, the reactive fuel selection is newlinean important concept for RCCI engine. Hence this work presented two newlinedifferent states of fuels to obtain the optimized combustion strategies. The newlinealternative fuels of biodiesel, methanol, dimethyl ether and the gaseous fuel of newlinehydrogen and methane are selected as the reactive fuel. In RCCI engine the newlinehigh octane number fuel is considered as low reactive fuel and high cetane newlinenumbered fuel is selected as high reactive fuel. In that case the hydrogen, newlinemethanol and methane are selected as the low reactive fuel and dimethyl newlineether, biodiesel, and diesel are considered as high reactive fuel. newline | |
