Abstract: For past few decades human race faced lot of challenges related to energy and environmental issues. The world ecosystem mainly depends on energy storage systems with clean green energy. In modern era, researchers concentrate electrochemical energy storage systems such as magnesium ion batteries, lithium ion batteries, proton batteries and fuel cells to replace the fossil fuels. The batteries are widely used in laptop, computers, mobile phones and etc. Lithium batteries are currently being used for the electronic gadgets so far. However lithium batteries have some disadvantages like high cost, less safety and difficult to handle. Proton batteries are greatly considered to overcome these drawbacks with low cost, ease fabrication and good stability. In addition proton batteries can be considered as good alternative for high power battery applications. The performance of the battery is also dependent on electrolyte used in it. In the present investigation a new eco friendly green Solid Polymer Electrolyte (SPE) based on Dextran, Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) as a host polymer and ionic dopant of different compositions of ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3), ammonium thiocyanate (NH4SCN) and ammonium formate (NH4HCO2) has been prepared by using simple solution casting technique. The blend biopolymer electrolytes have been synthesized by using 700 mg Dextran: 300 mg PVA with various compositions of NH4NO3 (400 - 475 mg), NH4SCN (0.3 - 0.7 M.wt %) and NH4HCO2 (0.3 - 0.6 M.wt %) respectively. The enhancement of amorphous nature of the prepared polymer membranes with the addition of salt has been confirmed by X - Ray Diffraction (XRD). newline
