In the next three decades, rapid urbanization and global warming strive to increase the per capita energy consumption in many countries. Hybrid wind-solar energy sources with energy-efficient appliances may be the alternatives to meet the abrupt demand growths. This work is primarily concerned with reducing dependence on coal-powered electrical grid and trying to consume as much as hybrid renewable energy available for a domestic consumer in an urban area home environment. This study discusses the identification of an effective aerofoil with optimal aspect ratio Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) suitable for wind energy generation in low wind profile areas using QBlade software analysis. A new D shaped aerofoil is proposed for low wind turbine model and its effectiveness on the VAWT model is studied along with standard NACA 4-series aerofoils. A 2 kW practical vertical axis turbine wind model is constructed based on the simulation results. The practical illustration compares the performance of low and high aspect ratio VAWT models. These simulation and practical results are combined to construct a virtual VAWT model in a Mat lab-Simulink environment. newlineAn efficient VAWT model provides an attractive solution for domestic side source generation. For this goal, an innovative Involute Wind Turbine (IWT) and a Wind Flow Modifier (WFM) are proposed for capturing the optimum wind energy from the domestic side. WFM is constructed with group of diffuser tubes placed near the involute turbine in the wind direction to intensify wind velocity. The analysis on involute rotor with WFM is designed using ANSYS-Fluent software to get good results on improving power co-efficient even for low wind profile areas. The IWT model is implemented in an application, named BLDC based air-conditioning system because it is one of the dominant loads during summer in the proposed urban area. The hybrid (wind-solar) air conditioning system uses battery backup to support the system. Hybrid wind-solar renewable energy on its incidence may be effi
