Abstract: | Emotional Intelligence is the ability to understand the emotions of ourself and at the same time emotions of others. Emotional intelligence is day to day working process which includes self-awareness and social awareness. Every organization has various set of tasks which employees needs to perform. Emotionally intelligent peoples have the ability to manage their interpersonal and intrapersonal relationship. In the education sector the daily routine of work has made people occupied with psychological and physical problems. The teacher s role and job performance are influenced by nature of emotions level at workplace. Emotional intelligence is the emerging challenge in today s education sector. Due to lack of emotional intelligence people have lack of empathy, social connectivity and relationship management. Lack of emotional intelligence hampers productivity, increase team conflicts and build unhealthy relationship. The current study will focus on how emotional intelligence can be implemented in education sector and its role in job satisfaction in higher education institution, Also, what kind of practices needs to be followed by higher education employees to enhance quality of workplace in education sector. The data has been analyzed through SPSS version 26. Descriptive analysis, Correlation analysis, Chi square test, Analysis of variance and factor analysis are used to interpret the results. The study found out that emotional intelligence has significant relationship with job performance. The practices of emotional intelligence can bring the updation in the job performance. The job performance is the activity that can be improve on day-to-day basis. Similarly, emotional intelligence practices need to be followed on regular basis. |
