Abstract: Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) is an annual, often cross-pollinated vegetable crop belonging to the family Malvaceae. It is an economically important vegetable crop grown in tropical and sub-tropical parts of the world. Okra has a prominent position among vegetables due to its wide adaptability, year round cultivation, export potential and high nutritive as well as medicinal value. It is good source of vitamin A, B and also contains vitamin C. It is rich in protein, iodine, calcium, potassium and other mineral matters. newline
