Steel encased in reinforced concrete method is used to avoid the steel newlinefrom buckling that can be used for beams, columns, both columns and beams newlineor coupling beams. the castellated beams are commonly used as structural newlinemembers in multi-storey buildings, commercial and industrial buildings, newlinewarehouses and portal frame. various advantages of castellated beams include newline(i) increased section height which results in enhanced moment of inertia, newlinesection modulus, stiffness and flexural resistance (ii) reduction in weight of newlinestructure (iii) optimum use of existing profiles (iv) by-passing the used plate newlinegirders and (v) the passage of service through the web openings. newlinepresence of web openings in castellated sections, leads to different types newlineof failures such as vierendeel collapse mechanism, buckling of a web post, newlineflexural failure, lateral torsional buckling and rupture at welded joints. so the newlinestress concentration occurs near the openings. hence to reduce the stress newlineconcentration and to increase the strength of castellated section is fully concrete newlineencased method can be used. the fully concrete encased steel composite system newlineprovides higher strength, stiffness, durability and ductility compared to newlineconventional rc structures.the aim of the present study is to carry out experimental, numerical and analytical investigations on fully concrete encased steel castellated beams with various position of hexagonal opening. literature review on various aspects of concrete encased steel beam with respect to experimental, analytical and numerical has been carried out. it is primarily noticed that lot of research studies were reported on concrete encased solid rolled beam. limited studies were reported related to concrete encased steel castellated beam with the varying position of opening and size of the newlineopening. newline newline
