Mathematical models can predict the progression of infectious newlinediseases. It characterizes the likely outcome of diseases. It contributes to the newlineenhancement of public health interventions. Models use fundamental principles newlinein mathematics to identify parameters involved in disease propagation. Then newlineit identifies the parameters associated with public health interventions and newlineinvestigates the effect of various health interventions. It determines which newlineparameters are most likely in controlling the disease spread. With the help of newlinethe optimal control strategy, it identifies the optimal values for those critical newlineparameters. As a result, infectious disease models assist to understand disease newlinespread and to develop disease control policies. newlineThis dissertation investigates the impact of awareness over infectious newlinedisease spreading and finds the optimal strategies for control parameters. The newlinefirst chapter discusses some basic epidemic models and the role of health newlineeducation in controlling epidemic spreads. The second chapter investigates newlinethe alcoholism spreading model, finds the impact of awareness over alcoholism newlinespread, and finds the optimal strategy for awareness and treatment parameters. newlineThe third chapter discusses the smoke spreading model, finds the effect of newlinecreating awareness within the smoke population, and identifies the optimal newlinestrategy for awareness and treatment parameters. newlineThe fourth chapter analyses the COVID-19 spreading, finds the newlineimpact of awareness via preventive measures, and identifies the optimal strategy newlinefor the number of test centres and sanitizing the virus-contaminated surfaces newline
