Abstract: | The present investigation was carried out to investigate the Studies on newlineFoliar Sprays of NAA and Boron on Growth, Flowering, Fruiting, Yield and newlineQuality of Litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) cv. Dehradun at the Garden of newlineDepartment of Fruit Science, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of newlineAgriculture and Technology, Kanpur (U.P.) during the years 2017-18 and newline2018-19. The experiment was laid out in a Factorial Completely Randomized newlineDesign with three replications and sixteen treatments. Four levels of NAA (0, newline30, 60 and 90 ppm) and Boron (0. 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6%) were taken. Spraying newlinewere done twice viz. before flowering and at pea stage. Application of 60 ppm newlineNAA individually maximized length of shoot significantly (24.43 and 26.39 newlinecm), number of leaves per shoot (22.64 and 24.23), length of panicle (33.13 newlineand 35.03 cm), fruit count at pea stage per panicle (44.51 and 47.50), one newlineweek after pea stage (39.64 and 43.56 fruits), pit hardening stage (29.68 and newline31.28 fruits), maturity stage (23.78 and 25.43 fruits), ripening stage (20.93 newlineand 22.33 fruits). Similarly the yield of marketable fruit per plant (70.03 and newline73.40 kg), numbers of fruits per panicle (19.27 and 20.50), length and newlinediameter of fruits (3.06, 3.26 cm and 2.84, 2.98 cm), seed diameter (1.37 and newline1.43 cm), fruit weight (19.04 and 20.10 g), pulp weight (13.06 and 13.26 g), newlinerind weight (2.69 and 3.27 g), pulp/stone ratio (3.98 and 3.71) were recorded newlinehighest. The metabolites e.g. T.S.S. (19.67 and 20.17 0brix), total sugar newline(13.23 and 13.57%), juice content (59.87 and 61.46%), sugar/acid ratio newline(27.81 and 28.48), vitamin-C (40.44 and 41.12 mg/100g) were highest under newlinethe same treatment. Organoleptic score (82.00 and 83.32 marks) and shelf newlinelife (3.91 and 3.97 days) respectively were maximum under the same level of newlineNAA, whereas, days to flowering (23.42 and 21.73 days), number of cracked newlinefruit and their percentage (2.56, 2.12) and (12.57, 9.57%) and acidity content newline(0.478 and 0.477%) were reduced with 60 ppm NAA. The minimum dry newlinematter in fruit (17.45 and 16.54%) |
