Abstract: newlineA biometric system automatically recognizes an individual based on a unique feature or characteristic the person possesses. Iris identification is known to be the most reliable and accurate biometric identifier available. Most commercial iris recognition systems use proprietary Daugman-developed algorithms, and these algorithms can achieve perfect recognition rates. Usually reported findings were obtained under favorable conditions, however, and no independent development trials were performed.
