Abstract: Health care is one of the most important of all human newlineendeavours to improve the quality of life especially of the 0-6 yrs newlinechildren. The years between 0 and 6, growth is generally slower than in newlinethe first year of life but continues gradually. The child may gain in newlineweight per month is 150 to 200 gram between one and two years. newlineActivity also increases during the second year of life. Development of newlinea full dentition by about the age of 2 years also increases the range newlineof foods that can be safely eaten. There is need for all nutrients, but newlinethe pattern of increase varies for different nutrients in relation to newlinetheir role in growth of specific tissues. Early childhood care and newlineeducation has a tradition of integrated curriculum approaches newlineembedded in children s everyday life. It refers to the children s newlinesurvival, growth, development and learning including health, newlinenutrition, hygiene, cognitive, social, physical and emotional newlinedevelopment from birth to entry in to primary schools in formal, newlineinformal and non-formal settings. The rich experience of ICDS has brought about a welcome newlinetransition from welfare orientation to a new challenging perspective newlineof social change. The evaluation of nutritional and immunization newlineservices was undertaken in the rural and urban ICDS centres of newlineGanjam District. The Socio-economic development of the country newlinedepends on the health status of it s children. So the opportunities for newlineearly childhood development determine the present and future of the newlinecountry. The present research is an attempt to study the nutritional newlineand health status of ICDS and Non-ICDS children (3-6 yrs) in urban newlineand rural areas of Ganjam District. A sample of 300 children was newlineselected. Initially 10 Anganwadi centres were randomly selected from newlinethe rural and urban areas of this district for this study. newline
