Abstract: | newlineFrom the early to the human civilization, the history and culture of India is in constant newlinechange. The civilization was started in the basin of Indus River. People from various part of newlinethe world migrated to India with their diverse culture and the use of iron, copper and other newlinemetals was very common in India at that early period. This is an indication of progress that newlinethis part of the world had made. India had become apparent as a region of advanced newlinecivilization by the end of the fourth millennium BC. There is no difference of opinion that newlineIndia is one of the oldest civilizations in the world with different pattern or shape and rich newlinecultural heritage. This cultural heritage is gift of our forefathers to us and we are proud of this newlineift. It is our moral responsibility to take care of this ancestral property. newlineThe Archaeological Survey of India was founded in the British India in 1861. It was founded newlineby Alexander Cunningham. The Archaeological Survey of India is now under the Ministry of newlineCulture, Government of India. Archaeological research and conservation and preservation of newlinecultural heritage, mainly cultural object like monuments, is the responsibility of newlineArchaeological Survey of India. newlineThe state of West Bengal is rich with the heritage of old civilization and there exist a good newlinenumber of heritage buildings and sites. To protect these architectures and other heritage newlineobjects with historical importance, the Government of West Bengal enacted the West Bengal newlineHeritage Commission Act in 2001 in the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs. newlineThe Cultural Heritage of Nadia District is very rich. It has been serving as a center for newlinepromotion of Indian culture, music drama, dance and cultural discussions etc. for a long time. newlineClay models and terracotta works, Sola Products, Bell Metal, Tant are the example of folk newlinecrafts. Nadia district can claim a proud tradition in century old dochala, charchala and newlineaatchala terracotta temple. |
