Abstract: The drainage system and its subsequent modification or evolution of newer landforms are the results of denudational processes that mainly controlled by topography, lithology, tectonics and climate (Burbank and Anderson, 2001; Ollier, 1981; Trauerstein et al., 2013). Therefore, a unique fingerprint of these competing factors was recorded in the geomorphic features (Whittaker et al., 2008). In other words, landforms have contained valuable information about the continuous interaction between erosive processes and tectonics in a tectonically active area. Among the other geomorphic processes, fluvial processes and rivers are more sensitive to tectonics and provide ample geomorphic signatures of tectonics (Holbrook and Schumm 1999). According to Anton et al. (2014), drainage networks are the spine of a landscape through which signals of geohydrological changes have transmitted. newline
