Abstract: The main goal of this thesis is Synthesis and characterization of binary/ternary nanoparticles and their interaction with drugs. Nanotechnology is a branch of science concerned with the fabrication of nanoscale particles. The ability to regulate materials at the nanoscale has the potential to revolutionize medical and healthcare treatments and therapies. Drug delivery systems (DDS) are one of the potential applications of human health care, and represent a branch of medical science that is eternally progressing. Nanoscale DDS is a promising way to reduce chemotherapy drug adverse effects while increasing treatment efficacy. By employing metal Nanoparticles (NPs), DDS can reduce adverse side effects because they target directly the affected organ. But the main issue that prevents them from being used in biological systems is their toxicity. To increase the biocompatibility, efficacy and selectivity of NPs based DDS, surface of NPs are functionalized with biocompatible polymers or targeting ligands such as peptides. Functionalized NPs effectively deliver therapeutic drugs with minimal side effects, allowing for diagnostics and treatment at cellular level. Keeping the demand, scope, and challenges in mind, the present thesis involves synthesis of surface unctionalized Binary/Ternary NPs, and, their promising applications in the fields of drug delivery. newline
