Abstract: This thesis addresses the electron transport phenomena in heterocyclic single molecule transistor, focusing on change in energy level alignment arises due to electrostatic field effect, anchoring group effect, and metallic contact effect. Large modulation in charge transmission occurrences within single molecule transistor is adequate to accomplish any progressive functionality in these devices. Despite its strong prospect, however, realizing a single molecule transistor experimentally is not easy due to several practical constraints. In such a situation, the role of the theoretical studies is significant to explore the functionality of molecules and the performance characteristics of single molecule transistors newline
