Abstract: DC to DC converters are increasingly being used in applications such as automotive, renewable power conversion, aerospace systems, and consumer electronics. Most of these applications require stringent regulations on the output like faster transient response regulated voltage and protection from abnormal operating conditions. A closed-loop control algorithm plays a vital role in regulating the output of the switching power converter. Traditional PI control algorithms show poor performance during input and load transients. To improve the dynamic response of the voltage loop, an additional inner current loop is often added. The dual loop leads to a dual loop controller current group, where the voltage loop limits the current loop bandwidth. newline
