Computer based bio-electronic systems are used for replacement of damaged newlinehuman parts such as Bionic-ear for deafness, Bionic-eye for blindness, Deep Brain newlineStimulator for diseases of the brain, and Bionic-arm for arm prostheses. The newlinedevelopment of embedded computer based bionic systems mimicking the natural newlinefunctionality of human parts is in continuous research because of advent of technology newlinethat used Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) devices: Field Programmable Gate newlineArrays (FPGA), Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD), Digital Signal newlineProcessor (DSP), High Speed Microcontrollers, etc. to meet the challenging requirement newlineof providing 100% functionality of the damaged human parts. The functional operation newlineof bionic systems is based on highly reliable VLSI analog /digital devices that are driven newlineby embedded software control. Algorithms for controlling bionic system are based on the newlinespecific bionic devices like bionic ear with speech/sound processing software and bionic newlineeye with image processing software. Bionic systems of present days do not meet 100% newlinefunctionality in addition to higher costs and inadequate reliability and safety.quot newline newline
