Abstract: | Sthaulya is considered as one of the most hated (Ninditani) condition in a person. newlineSthaulya follows Laulya or excessive and indiscriminate eating habits. In newlineAyurved, eating before the first portion of food is digested is called as newline Adhyashana . Laulya, Adhyashana are the major Hetus (causative factors) for newlineSthaulya. Ayurved has many rules and regulations for eating food, while certain newlineprinciples, are laid down according to season and prakruti of an individual. But many newlinepeople are tempted to eat delicious and spicy food. This eating and no control on newlineone self leads to Sthaulya culminating into Pragyaaparadh . newline Probably, therefore newlineCharak acharya felt the necessity to create a group of herbs which were newlineexclusively used for control or reduction of Sthaulya (Obesity). newline |
