Abstract: In the present thesis, our unitarity based rigorous analysis not only shows in general the compatibility of present precise data with the CKM paradigm but also points out to the possibility of the unitary triangle being right angled. Also, the constrained Fritzsch-like hermitian texture 4-zero mass matrices for both quarks as well as leptons are fully compatible with the present mixing and oscillation data including the CP violation data. newline
