Abstract: | There is a need to develop a new scale for Memory Development for college students in the present-day era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyber world of social media - Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc. In this Thesis - Abstract, most memory concerns about memory enhancement of students apart from cognitive evaluation of different self-scales to assess for specific neuropathologies and guide treatment. I have attempted to develop a new scale for student s memory based on Patanjali Yoga sutras of ancient yore and enhance the student s memory with specific Pranayama practices. newlineChapter 1 gives the Introduction, where the basic concept of Memory is explained based on Yoga textbooks (Ramdev, 2018; Prasad, 1998; Vivekananda, 2014), there is a mention of Smriti or Memory. Desabandhachittasyadharana - this verse implies that desa (spot) of chitta (mind) is interconnected between the neurons of the brain and it has to be recalled or focused (dharana). How? In this chapter, it is tried scientifically to interpret the concept of Smriti and explain by using psychological tools (Kozulin, 1998). Hypothesis statement leading to defining the research problem and objectives. The objectives of this research works are to develop a new scale for How one feel about one s own Memory by using pre-post design of Yoga intervention. newlineChapter 2 includes Literature survey on the concept of yoga and its role in the development of memory. A total of 122 research papers, 15 textbooks and web site domains and links are referred and reviewed. It s found that there are 25 verses talk on Memory development and are given in Indian philosophical textbooks. The qualitative review and its analysis are of two-fold one related to background details of Memory concept from yoga textbooks and from it to find the gaps in the review of research papers.
