Academic achievement of college students and its psychological correlates

Abstract

Data was obtained from the sample comprised of 656 undergraduate students across pure science and applied science studying from second through fifth semester in this phase only low academic achievement students were randomly selected for the focused group discussion from the sample an interaction was conducted with 36 students from pure science and applied science programs discussions were focused on the psychological correlates of academic achievement like challenging experiences faced in college and exploration of how those challenges were resolved stressors faced and means of coping strategies employed participants perception of factors that could enhance their academic achievement was also explored during these discussions newline
