Characterization of fiber and Nanoparticle reinforced composites

Abstract

The epoxy nanocomposites materials are widely used in many newlineapplications such as structured materials, automotive and electronic newlineindustries. The scope of the present work is the development of epoxy-based newlineNanocomposites. The detailed investigations of different mechanical and newlinethermal properties of the composites have been conducted and recorded. newlineIn this work, three different nanomaterials namely Boron Nitride (BN), newlineCordia Obliqua Willd (COW) and Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes / graphitic newlinecarbon nitride (MWCNTs/g-C3N4) hybrid nanofiller selected for developing a newlinenew class of epoxy nanocomposites. The nanocomposites were prepared by newlinedirect mixing of nanoparticles and matrix materials in the form of castings. newlineComposites were characterized by tensile properties (tensile strength and newlinetensile modulus) with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), flexural newlineproperties (flexural strength and flexural modulus), impact strength (un-notched newlineIzod), thermal properties (thermal degradation temperature) wear properties newline(coefficient of friction and wear rate) and water absorption properties. newline
